The Stamp-Request Checklist — What to Send So the Job Starts Right
Stamp jobs are slow and incomparable for one reason: packages arrive incomplete, so every firm prices a different guess and every clock starts with a discovery round. Send these eight things and the job — quoted, scheduled, reviewed — is built from your actual set.
The Eight Items
- The drawings — the current set at its current revision, PDF (CAD if you have it). The job reviews the revision you send; a newer one mid-review restarts the clock
- The calculations, if they exist — structural calcs, load letters, energy reports. Sending them is the cheapest thing a buyer can do; not having them is fine, hiding that is not
- The project address and jurisdiction (city/county) — the permit path, the code edition, and the license state all hang off this
- The disciplines you need sealed — structural, MEP, civil, electrical — and, honestly, the ones you are unsure about
- Any correction notices, AHJ comments, or reviewer letters — these ARE scope for this job; hiding them costs you twice
- Who produced the set (architect, designer, engineer, manufacturer) and who is coordinating the permit
- Your deadline, stated as the real date the permit or the lender needs the sealed set
- How you will judge the work: price, speed, or review depth — say it, and the job gets run to it
What Good Looks Like
A quote built from a complete package names the job's stages, the disciplines, what the review checks, the seal and the state behind it, the correction rounds included, and the date — and it holds. The evaluated firms on this site commit to same-day quotes from a complete scope; hold every bidder, ours included, to that standard. Before you sign with anyone: verify the license.
Who Publishes This Directory
Published by Apex Grid Engineering PLLC. The firms evaluated and listed on this site today are the publisher's own family of brands — this is an affiliated directory, not a neutral referee. The methodology below is the standard any engineering firm can be measured against, and it is the standard we hold our own firms to in public. Presentation order on this site is the publisher's choice and an experiment in what helps buyers decide — it is not an objective quality verdict, and no firm pays for placement. Coverage claims are limited to licensure the operator's bench actually holds, stated per state. No reviews, ratings, or project claims are published for any firm unless they can be documented — this site follows one stamp job end to end and publishes the publisher's methodology assessments; it does not publish customer reviews, and you will find none invented here.
